I agree Connie about the Tethering. In the house I have her tethered but on occasion I let her outside without leash which is when she takes the opportunity and of course when you rely on a 12 years old to pick up the yard...well..I'll be more aware and proactive and continue to tether. Thanks for the advice
One more thing, I have never seen a dog eat grass like she does. We've nicknamed her grazer because when we take her to the park she literally will rip the grass from the ground and eat it with reckless abandon. Another parasite clue, perhaps?

Yes, the tethering to you was meant for inside (about the table-jumping and also getting potty clues), and walking her on leash at poop time outside for the ability to turn away from the poop immediately.
And the poop really has to be picked up right then for it to be a good consistent intervention. That is, walk the dog on leash at poop time; turn away from poop and give treat reward when she is away from it; pick up poop immediately. So there are no pooping events when the dog is not on leash with you on the other end, and no poop that was deposited without you being there. *
This would be why you'll want a poop-schedule (as it relates to meals), so you can get her on leash and walking briskly at the right time, and tethered so you can catch any unexpected potty clues and get her outside, where you again turn away from poop (reward), and pick up.
I wasn't clear.; bad day yesterday,
I know how tedious the whole schedule and always-on-leash-at-poop-time thing is, but this has been my only successful method when I've adopted poop-eaters who developed the habit before and retained it even on a good diet.
