It's taken forever but I finally got a snap shot of her ears when they are both up. What the heck kind of dog has ears like this? Are they on their way to standing straight up or are they just huge ears that partially stand? lol
Aren't they the weirdest ears ever? LOL It will be interesting to see what happens with them. When she is at my feet looking up they stand straight like a shepherds but I think that is just from momentum, haha

Her ears look like Shar Pei ears to me, just bigger. I grew up in the SW and there certainly weren't many/any BMCs around so that wouldn't be my first or tenth guess... Rhodesian would be far more likely. She sure is cute though! Love her little white nose.
Well, we have 2 purebred all-natural Dobermans who are unrelated, and their ears are FULL-DROP like the Rhodesian Ridgeback or Weimaraner leather, not semi-prick or button or folded or "airplane" or in any way partially-erect ... Our Dobies' ears are typical of numerous uncropped Dobermans we've also known -- But of course, a range of slight variations within a breed (especially with a mixed-breed) might be expected, and isn't the dog in question a beauty !!!
So, it appears that both ears are going to be up at least this far, dont know if they will stand staight or not, lol. What the heck kind of ears are these?
In the Collie they would be called a "semi-prick" ear, and in the Kerry Blue they would be called a "folded" ear -- But in your puppy, who knows, they may end up standing Fully Erect (???) Whatever, though, I think he's GORGEOUS !!!
You mentioned the possibility of Black Mouth Cur in your other thread. I agree she bears a strong resemblance to that breed. Are they common in your area?
I am just jumping on this post, saw the pic and thought of a Black Mouth Cur before reading on. Pit shines also. I know two BMC's this way, southern rescues, strong resemblance to them. Maybe they are just being called that for various reasons.
I am fostering a Doberman pup and her ears look nothing like that.
Whatever he is, he's a nice looking pup, love the color combo.
