Kelly, it sounds like you are as on top of Cat's problem as you can be. I can't think of anything you have not done ... that's for sure.
You are right that Shyner will give you the clue, and I know you will take that clue and not hesitate ... you, like many others here, know the agony of having waited a little longer than we wish we had. I know you are storing up memories and standing tall for Shyner.
And I know you know that the end can be very sudden and very bad .... perhaps something to talk with the vet about avoiding ....

I have already discussed scenarios with the vet and with Paul. Shyner is more his dog than mine, and he understands and wants to wait until she lets us know. He is in denial, I think, but I will respect his wishes until something forces my hand. She really is acting normal at this point- if anything changes I will act and he will deal with it.
Kelly, I'm so sorry to hear about what you and your husband are going through right now with both Cat and Shyner. Please know that you are in my thoughts.
Kelly, it's heartbreaking reading what you're going through with Cat and Shyner. Just wanted to let you know you are all in our thoughts. I can't imagine them being in any better hands than with you.
Oh poor you, Kelly it sounds as though you have two old dogs who are going to break your heart.
My only advice is pretty negative, I guess ------ don't let it go too long, don't let it be Sunday night and icy roads and deep snow and no one can get there to help you.
Also, many men, perhaps most men, if they have a partner who normally "takes care of things", remain in denial regarding failing health in their pets. It seems it is almost always the woman who makes the call, today is the day.
That is perhaps sexist or something but it is my experience.
I am thinking of you on this dark and gloomy day, my heart goes out to you.
