PRIMARY with a puppy is don't work it to the point of failure. They have very short attention spans.
If the puppy will be in the house then use the TV for training.
Every commercial do one or two exercises then let the pup relax.
To many put to much time in working a pup and that leads to boredom and failure.
2-3-4 minutes, multiple times a day are WAY better then a single half hour long training session.
I'd rather watch a puppy learn then compete with a finished dog. Seeing that light bulb go on is the best!
For an interesting look at the progression of 1 dog, here is a YouTube channel where the owner posted weekly training videos of what she was working on with her GSD puppy.
Nice training IMHO. You can watch Carma from 6 weeks through 1 year.
