I should probably say a prayer for them.

Well, we'll see if this works. The screen seems funky but what do I know?
The Doberman is in its new home in West Virginia. A really good home, with people who really like Dobermans, and have a long history of having them in their home. We had a meet and greet on Saturday, and the new owners picked up the dog on Sunday morning for the return trip to WV. Lots of room, lots of care, great.
It is really nice when folks get together and figure out a way to solve a problem. When all was said and done, it was the 6 degrees of separation thing proven to be true. An excellent outcome.
And at 10 am this morning the GSD arrived here. 2 year old male. He seems to have settled in with the pack without many issues. They are all sleeping on the floor as I type. The dog was part of a K9 program, and without going into the long of it, the short of it was that he was going to get a needle if they couldn't find a home for him. He's only been here for about 8 hours but it is clear, at least to me, he is a too good mutt to meet such an end. Lots of energy. Loves to play. Basics are solid.
He should be here for about three weeks, and then he will be going to North Carolina. A family member.
There is no way this dog should have had the threat of needle over his head. I'll have three weeks to see if I am any judge of a dog or if I shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion. But he just finished his evening meal, and it wasn't his last.

I say EXCELLENT!
Any chance he will blend in so well that your better half won't even notice that there is yet another rescue guy there?
Congratulations, and a sincere pat on the back, Mike.

P.S. I too have just accepted that I'll have a pack for the rest of my life.
And that they will all be well trained and secure.

You have a big heart, Mike. The dogs that come into your life are very lucky & blessed to have you in their lives even if just for a short time.
Making a difference....1 dog at a time.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing! Those are nice-looking dogs, each and every one. I'm happy to hear the Doberman has found a great home and that you already have a home lined up for your new GSD foster.
