With 55-60 yrs of having multiple dogs I've resisted breeding for the simple reason that I don't want the HUGE responsibility that goes along with it.
"I want a puppy from my dog". Why?
I want to make a couple of dollars. Save those dollars if you do because as Betty commented, you will get some of them back with issues to boot.
Sex education for the kids...Honest! I was in my 50s when I found out that's why my dad bred the first dog I ever trained when I was 12. Nobody told me that's what it was all about otherwise Ida never been able to hold back the laughing and snickering.
"I love puppies".
So do I. I'd rather works with puppies then compete with a well trained dog.....but a litter of them is a bit much....and they grow up and have to be fed.
If people in the know say the dog is breed worthy THEN it might be worth a shot otherwise it's just another litter not needed.
