I hope this fact will bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead, knowing that you let him go with dignity (yes, I believe dogs do have a sense of dignity), and before he was in a great deal of pain or fear.

Matt, I am so sorry, I know that gut clenching feeling of having to make the decision to put a friend to sleep, Shiloh fought a brave fight, and you couldn't have done more for your boy.
I hope in time the pain lessens for you and your family.
Rest peacefully Shiloh, run free in the sun at the Bridge.
