I spoke to my breeder this morning and coccidia/giardia have not been an issue in her kennel.
Betty, Strongid is not effective against whipworms or tapeworms. It only works for roundworms (which he had) and hookworms. We weighed him the day I pick up the meds and then weighed him again 2 weeks later for the next dose to make sure the dose was correct. He's growing about 4-5 lbs a week right now.
Niomi, He is almost 9 months old and weighs 110 lbs. Because he is growing so quickly I wanted to keep the protein level down for him. Any suggestions as to a different food that is higher calorie but still keep the protein level on the lower side?

Just checked and Panucur can be used to treat whipworms so maybe I'll run a course of that through him and go from there.

So, I know I sound like an idiot, here, but.....I might buy a small bag of Dog Chow. Yeah, I know it is pretty junky, has questionable ingredients....but Purina spends a fortune getting a good poop.
No one would feed it if it caused diarrhea, no one.
So I wouldn't feed that long, but I might try it, because it is reasonably priced, dogs like it, and you are trying to normalize the feces.
Just an idea. After you get tired of the rice/chicken/pumpkin routine.....

Not sure about the logic of lower protien? From everything I've read calcium and phos and then just calories are what to watch. As long as they're lean then that's what matters. Canidae might be a 20-24% protien food and I thinks it's over 400 calories/cup. And, while purina isn't on my top ten list of prefered foods, Dr Betty makes a really good point about it.

Maybe give the bowel a few days before the Panacur. If there were any hooks, they were imbedded, and there will be tiny sores. See if you get any good effect from the Strongid.
Tapes don't do too much, IME, except be gross. Tapes are the ones that flake off little segments that are vaquely pinkish when laid on the stool, and dry to a grain of rice type egg sac, often you see these glued to the hairs around the anus. They are spread by mice and fleas, mainly fleas.
You'd know it, most likely, if your dog had tapes.
The drug for tapes is Droncit, or used to be. It is quite expensive, and Rx.

From what I've read (and maybe I'm totally misunderstanding what I've been reading) with giant breed dogs you want to keep the protein lower so they don't grow too quickly. There is a danger of paneotitis (sp?) when they grow too fast. They are going to get as big as they are supposed to genetically be; you just want them to do it slowly. My boy's mom is 175 lbs and dad is 240 lbs. I'm not sure how big my guy will get but I want him to grow slowly and safely.
The poops have been good from last night till tonight since I've been switching to the other protein. What do you think about continuing the Nature's Domain Salmon with added pumpkin for a few more days to see if the good poops continue?
I'd be willing try using the Dog Chow for a week or so and see what happens if the poops go runny again.
The ND Turkey is 336 kcal/cup. According to the feeding chart 100-125 lbs @ 8-12 month should be fed 7 1/4-8 1/2 cups.

I don't know Natures Domain.
When I have tried to feed "fancy premium kibbles" I have had nothing but diarrhea and gas, and this is in farm dogs who eat manure/dead things/all manner of junk on a regular basis and keep a firm stool. So I mainly feed raw, with occasional cheap kibble, but my dogs are puny compared to yours, and I have a freezer full of beef and lamb.
With a giant dog like yours at the peak of his growth spurt dietary management is huge. And a lot of "bulldog type dogs" seem to have touchy GI tracts.
Perhaps calling a successful kennel who raises these dogs and asking what they feed their pups would give you some good information. Call a few of them, so you can X out folks with lots of time who are cooking meals for their kennels on a daily basis, and the ones on the other end who feed feed store kibble exclusively.

Nature's Domain is not one of those rich super premium kibbles. I actually feed it to Tanner because he doesn't do as well on rich kibbles.

Another thought - are you feeding for body condition or just following the amount on the bag?
You may be able to cut back a bit more on the amount that he's getting and be just fine

Any chance you have some pictures, natural stance from the side and a bird's eye view?
I know this isn't a "is he the correct weight" post, but determining body condition can certainly help determine if the dog is experiencing negative affects from the poop issue, or perhaps just being fed such a high volume it is causing it, or maybe an ongoing parasite issue.
