That was one of the possibilities Betty, she said he could have been born with an auto immune problem that the Previcox exacerbated, he has had a quiet night, there was a slight trickling of blood from one ear, which stopped after a few minutes.
He has eaten and had a drink and pee this morning but is very sleepy after the general still.
Thank you Betty.

Highest Hopes for the Best Possible outcome, my dear cyber friend -- Sometimes life just SUX but then gets a bit Better ... Sounds like Kaiser is at least staying comfortable for the time being, thanks to your loving care & his other packmates' kind consideration.

Thanks Kristin
The swelling around his hock has starred to go down this morning, and the blood in the soft tissue is starting to dissipate.
I pm'd Betty with some questions, and of course she has given me some great advice, and assured me to continue with steroid treatment will give him a fighting chance.
I am so grateful to have you all as my immediate port of call, and I thank you sincerely.
I am hoping he is starting to turn a corner, and will keep you all posted.
Again, thank you, all of you x

My boy is making good progress.
The steroids are doing their job, and the swelling is gone; Sam has been taking photos daily and the difference is staggering, the tell tale spots of blood that were collecting around the leg, ears and soft tissue where they shaved his leg for the canula have gone.
I have been giving him 4 small meals consisting of eggs, liver and steak throughout the day to get some iron back into his system, and carefully watching pees and poos - the urine stream is clear and the poos soft but formed.
I have another week of steroids then will take him back to see the vet.
I have been amazed and massively relieved to see this turn around, I was desolate on Monday and preparing for the worst.
I am optimistic now, so much more positive and just looking forward to my dawn walks with the whole pack again.
Thank you all again, and especially Betty for her advice and reassurance.
Trace x

So glad to hear this news.
You guard your heart, though. A rally, followed by a crash, is possible.
But don't dwell on that. Feed and rest, and hope for the best!
