Grandaughter #3 is fantastic! Not only did she make the Illinois State finals but she also twice made RUNNER OF THE WEEK and now RUNNER OF THE YEAR in an Alton Illinois sports news paper.
She not only ran Varsity as a Freshman but the first PERSON ever to make State finals in the history of her school, opened in 1927.
High School Cross Country season officially over her and her younger sister and brother ran a "Turkey Trotter 5K cross country for the fun of it.
Out of 300 + runners, she at 14 yrs old came in 4th in her age group of 13 to 19. She was running against a number of college runners.
Her "tiny" younger sister 11 came in 2nd in her age group, 8 to 12 and youngest brother 10 came in 15th.
#3 will be a senior when #4 is a Freshman and I knowing how competitive sports wise they both are it will be fun to watch.
Backyard soccer games. hoops, wiffle ball, you name it, these three can turn any of it in to a rugby match.
Their mom, my daughter, has outlawed dodge ball in the yard.

Well I know, that genes are mixed and that they're no the whole secret. I think the bringing up is even much more important. Nevertheless you're a great part of that incredible mixture. And so : Congrats Grandpa!
