Believe me, I thought of that! I also checked Netflix, Amazon Prime Streaming, Hulu, and more.
I don't have a DVD player because I have DVR.
I suspect that sooner or later it'll return to Prime or one of those. I'll just keep my eyes open!
You know, it's funny, but I love the book (I love the first book best) and the series equally. Usually, to me, books are better .... and once in a while the series is. But with this one, I get tons of enjoyment out of both. The series is extremely faithful to the books, but each venue provides its own type of enjoyment.
As much as I'm looking forward to seeing the TV show if it comes back I agree with books being better.

I already look forward to reading the books and also to watching the movies. But I agree with you, Bob. I mostly prefer reading, Our imagination adds a lot around what is written, while movies - even good ones - limit it us on what is shown.

Thanks, Candi and Connie, for the comments in response to my question. Connie, there's no reason you can't have both a DVR and a DVD player, is there? I have both and get a lot of use out of both of them. I don't have Netflix, Hulu, or any of those streaming services due to slow internet speeds in my area, but I have a good-size collection of movies and old TV shows on DVD, enough to keep me occupied when there's nothing of interest on my satellite TV service. (250+ channels and often nothing to watch!) Oh, and I still have a VCR, because some of my collection is on VHS tape.
Oh yes, I still have my old VCR too -- Tapes give a better quality picture than DVDs, in my view ... That being said, I don't have Blue-Ray or HD though

I ordered a new paperback copy last week and read it, for I think the third time. :-)

I see my library has the book, or at least the first one, and at least a couple seasons of the TV series. With my library, I can always put in a request for an item they don't have on their shelves and they will get it on loan from another library. So I'm hoping to start on these soon!
