My oldest, Kai, a GSD female, small at less than 60 lbs. She gets to get comfy on the recliner. No other dogs get the privilege of climbing on the furniture.
Cur: a mongrel dog, especially a worthless or unfriendly one,

Bob, you simply do not fit the definition of "cur."

Curmudgeon perhaps: a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person. And that is a title I would proudly share with you. I especially like the cantankerous descriptive.

Here in Wisconsin we have all been either freezing our tails off or digging out of the snow. I love snow, but I have certainly had enough of winter this year. The horse waterer was frozen last night so we were up past midnight getting that defrosted, and then I was up by 5 this morning for work.... yeah, spring can show up anytime now...
My old lady Toni is slowing down a bit at 14, but the pup Eleven keeps her on her toes. Fennec will be 5 here in just a few days - hard to believe she has been here for 2 years already.

My friend just learned that her 11 year old Weim has cancer in the sinuses, so many evenings have been spent with her discussing the meaning of life over a few adult beverages.... it was not that long ago that I got the same diagnosis about my little Shyner....sometimes those adult beverages taste a bit salty....

What the hell of strange words you have! Had to search for the translation of cantankerous, curmudgeon and cur. Cur ist really much too nasty! The other two very ugly I always saw you in my mind as mostly laughing or smiling or at least well behaved guys. I can't imagine that one of you, Bob and Mike, earn such courtesy titles, But if they are apropriate, well, then I'll have to figure out if I'd better cancel my membership here.

Kelly and digging heavy snow! Lol and cry! I know this and miss it here, although at the time i often was swearing. Hardest part: We often had to pick up a thick layer of ice in the pool and then had a huge mountain of blocks in our garden. A reason for very ugly words, you bet.
So sorry for Weim and your little Shyner. I already dread the day, when one of my dogs gets such an awful diagnostic.

				Ahhh,
Curmudgeon: a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person.

I have been called high handed, abrasive and hard to get along with. And I aspire to being a curmudgeon of sorts. It is kind of the reward for being around for awhile, and living through the good and the bad.

For sure I can be difficult. Through my many faults I can be bad tempered. Being cantankerous is taking on different personalities, I suppose, to be in the moment. Kind of a statement I'm here and not to be trifled with. Poke the old dog at your peril.

All tongue in cheek, and to be taken with a grain of salt. But not to be totally discounted.

Though I got a T shirt from my children that has a picture of a GSD in sun glasses and has the following words on it.
WALK AWAY
I AM A GRUMPY OLD MAN
I LIVE WITH MY SHEPHERD
I HAVE ANGER ISSUES
AND A SERIOUS DISLIKE FOR
STUPID PEOPLE

I think they were kidding.

Same here with the T shirts Mike. In particular my youngest daughter gets a kick out of giving them to me.

Large "SOB" with the small letters under it "sweet old Bob".

Disney T shirt with picture of Grumpy on the front
"Genius by birth, Grumpy by choice"!

Another Grumpy from Disney
"I'm Grumpy Because Your Dopey".

She loves me!

I do not believe in a single word of your selfdescription, fellows! Neither cantankerous, nor curmudgeon , nor contemptible, nor haughty, nor grumpy, nor ....

Proof: Your kids wouldn't dare to give you such Fun-T-Shirts if you really had such terrible traits. They knew you would understand it as just kidding.

I love the "genius of birth, grumpy by choice"!

Or "I'm grumpy because you're dopey." Puh, pretty naughty.

Great also the WALK AWAY warning and the name SOB. So sweet!

I also have a T-Shirt from my hubby with the text
DON'T FEAR MY PIT-BULLS
FEAR ME!

But until now nobody fled.
