Lol Bob, maybe ask her for the dreaded chore list instead haha!
Sasha has a natural retrieve too! Didn't even have to teach her to put the ball in my hand!
Working on her anxious areas, like the kitchen and new places. She has a tough time exploring.
I will be working on loading her into the truck without going anywhere, and getting into the bogan. Using a dog bed as a place mat.
And threshold training, so no door bolting! So far so good!
Quarantine is not bothering us, it's like summer came early, since we are cooped up most of the time then anyways!
Would love to remote collar train her buf not sure how to start on a pup who was so unsocialized.
But plenty of time til that thinking!
Cheri, do your dogs take liquid or pill meds? I had to wrap dewormer in sliced cheese to get Sasha to eat it!
Becky, all the pills are tablet style and of a reasonably small size. I'm very fortunate that they do not give me any trouble about actually eating them. I don't have to hide them. I just mix them in with their food morning and night, and they eat them. Their meals always include a little wet food, so the pills stick there just fine. I do have to watch because, once in a while, one will get stuck to the bottom of the bowl and the dog can't seem to lick it up, so I give them a little help.
What I was referring to when I said all the pills were challenging is the logistics of keeping track of who gets what, keeping them reordered when necessary, etc. I actually get them from three different places, because no one pharmacy has all of them. Each dog also has a "days of the week" pill organizer just like many of us humans use. Otherwise, managing all of those bottles at each meal would drive me crazy.
Today on tracking adventures with Fennec, we started learning scent pads... before it started to rain. She seems to be picking it up pretty quick so far.
Eleven is now sitting at the door for Paul and he is working on eye contact before she gets released. His observation “ kind of nice not having her jump in my face all the time.” Gee, ya think??
At the club I belonged to we did the marker training with people. directing them to a chair, etc. Amazing how some just didn't marker training until they became the 'dog". Even then it could be like watching a Laurel and Hardy movie......but fun.
