Tiggy2, Would that be about 1-2 teaspoons? Or less? I checked out Ed's site on GrandFlex. Both GrandFlex and this Synovicare have similar quantities in mgs of the primary ingredients. He lists 2-3 teaspoons to start, then dropping down to 1/2 to 1. I made an adjustment based on the fact that GSDs are heavier than my dog.
Yes that sounds right. I am mixing a larger qty
for several dogs at a time and had to do some
number crunching to adjust it down. I think it works though, I use Glucosamine and Chondroitin myself for joint problems and also salmon oil and it seems to help. The sled dogs take a lot of pounding in their joints and I think that this supp helps keep them supple.
An idea that might help those concerned with supplement cost...I get msm and glucosamine
at the feed store. They make the same products for horses and since we need
only an amount perhaps for a 100 lb. dog compared to 1000 lb. horse- it is much more affordable. Just watch your dosages! My dog was hit by a car,
had a disk removed and is still recovering. If I forget his supplements for even two
days there is a huge difference. Much more lameness.
Have been giving my dog Synovicare (similar to GrandFlex) for almost a month. My dog seems somehow a bit more muscular and "tighter". I have not done anything different to his normal routine other than the supplement. Am I hallucinating? Has anyone else had this effect?
Took him to the vet yesterday for his Sentinal and wellness check and the vet said if he came in as a stray she would think he was 5 instead of 9. Perhaps she was feeding my ego, but it certainly pleased me to no end. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
