I was wondoring what he said about this in short as it is a debatable and complicated issue for some. Maybe you could answer my question too as I know you are a knowledgeable person on Bernhard, as you have trained with him.

Bernard did say specifically that the whip stimulated defense drive and the sleeve prey. A dog that will not bark/ defense drive / can be stimulated by cracking the whip from a distance until barking, then reward with a bite. doing this from a closer and closer range will ultimately bring to that bark and hold. Did this with that big beautiful black sheperd.
