We have animal liberation, same as PETA it seems, what sort of sick evil pervert would deny a blind person the use of a seeing eye dog?

Well, according to PETA the use of Guide Dogs, SAR dogs, etc is *exploitation* of the poor dog. Actually, they are violently opposed to the entire concept of *ownership* of a dog. They've really made some inroads in SF (California) and grabbed control of the city council as well as the humane society up there.
Don't bother to try to reason with them, they are too mentally disturbed.

Why not arrange for these idiots to get lost and remove all SAR dogs in the area or better still let them be blind and refuse them guide dogs.If any of these idiots had any idea about what they are poking their nose into,then I am sure they would have a different view.If you ban dog ownership,what do they do with the millions of dogs.
I was once told by a Vegan that if everyone stopped eating any animal product,the farmers would still produce the animals for us to see,when will they return to the real world.

The problem is, their true agenda is *not* what they post publicly, you have to do a bit of digging to get the truth. I wonder how many kind hearted animal lovers have been sucked into their sick cult, thinking *oh, gee, humane treatment of animals, I'm all for that . . .*

ROFL, Paul. I can't help myself sometimes. Everytime I hear a PETA loon spewing about working dog *enslavement*, I get a mental image of a Mal searching for a Kong . . . oh yeah, we have to use lots of force and compulsion to get them to do *that* . . .

A bit of a tangent, Heinrich Himmler was a strict vegetarian, got out of chicken farming and into mass murder, only visited the site of a mass execution once, made him sick so they developed the gas chambers. A extremist position on these animal welfare isuues seems to go hand in hand with a complete contempt for the value of human life and welfare.

Just on the banning of schutzhund in Victoria Australia . It has NOT being banned. The only thing that was changed is that they wanted these dogs to be deemed dangerous (eg orange collars etc) The fact is that the recent court victory for schutzhund has placed these new laws in jeporty. Laws are only good if people abide by them. No schutzhund dogs that I know of are declared. It will be reveiwed in time. Hey, if you vote for labour then you deserve what you get.

I'm sure your all on mailing list and get request from PETA and the SPCA for donations - I know I get them. Be sure to remind people that if they send these big organizations money - it goes right into paying rent for the big office building or into the christmas bonus checks of employees.
Better to find one of the many Rottie or Purebred Rescues....I've worked with them and the money goes right back into operations and supplies for the dogs.

I believe ALL local humane societies are the same. We called them several times to report a women who did rescue for CABRA - an animal coalition - but she was only re-homing a few and keeping hundreds of others in small crates in her trailer. The eye-witness to it said there were feces everywhere and the roof was almost caved in so the dogs had little protection overhead. We even called the newspapers but nothing happened!

I'm not sure how many of you heard but PETA is up for an award. If anyone still has the link to it - you can register and vote for one of their worthy competitors. PETA isn't in it for the animals, they just want to cause trouble and stand out in the crowd.

I can't remember but I think it was PETA who - to make a statement - took over 100 ton of elephant tusk and set them on fire! Tusk that could have been used in education seminars or something of the sort - but instead the animal's life was completely wasted instead of going to some good to stop the practice of poaching.

Gee, I never get donation requests from PETA or HSUS, rofl.
