I guess I'm looking at it from a participation perspective and how it will/would feel to go to qualification with several club members that you train with day in and day out, score as well as them or better, qualify, but then can't go just because you don't have a gsd and they do. Hey, chit happens whenever you are involved with any organization. I'm sure life will go on uninterrupted.

I did not mean to imply no one else would be affected - just that those people seem to regularly show up at the National events and/or were in the top 10 at this SchH3 National...!

Ever since VC admitted to owning a Malinois he sure has been talking up his GSD......seems odd....  Might there be some underlying conflict.......could it be VC actually likes the Malinois..... USA is a German Shepherd Dog breed club. The purpose of the Nationals is to compete the best German Shepherds in the country. It is not soley a sporting dog club, at least that is not the mission of the organization.
It surprises me that people are getting bent out of shape about this.....USA has bent over backwards to allow other breeds to compete in THIER trials. They are the back-bone of the AWDF. The Malinois folks now have thier own National IPO Championship which is restricted to Belgian breeds, which they send a team to thier version of the WUSV World Cup. Noone is faulting them. You have the AWDF Championships, you also have DVG, so what is wrong with them restricting one major trial to their breed? The Nationals are getting too large in entries anyway these past few years.
