I looked at the picture on Universal K9's website and the picture they show looks like Schweikert's nylon scratch pants. The description say synthetic though.
Schweikert most popular scratch pants are the "Aero" which is made of man made sythetic material. The Aero are 1/2 the weight of leather scratch pants and are very durable and are machine washable. Scweikert also makes a nylon pants for around $150 and I think they still make a leather but you are going to pay some big bucks. Cameron Ford of Universal K9 sells the Aero for the cheapest price.
Ebinger makes a nice Heavy duty Nylon scratch pants and jacket that gives you amble protection in the front and are very light weight and gives you very good mobility. Gappay new scratch pants are very similar from what I saw.
I own a pair of each of the pants mentioned. (I have no sensible explanation, so don’t ask why.)
Maybe I can help you out or have you already bought a pair? On the pictures on the Leerburg web site Flinks uses Schweikert Aero with padding only infront. LINK
