Let a dumb a$$ try to explain.
DDR lines gives structure and the Czech lines give that great attitude. Am I close. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I do not consider the DDR and the Czech lines the same. I think there were some nice DDR dogs that the Czechs used, but most of the DDR lines got watered down in show crap. JMO
The DDR and Czech dogs are very different from what I have seen. The Czech dogs have by far a harder character and are far better working dogs. They have stronger drives and are more handler hard than the DDR. I think the DDR dogs are more blocky and have stronger bones and larger heads than most Czech lines.
There is a lot of DDR dogs in the Czech lines and most go back to Ingo.
The DDR dogs are all but gone and it's nearly impossible to get a real good one.
That's my opinion anyhow. And we know what opinions are like <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Again, What would you expect breeding top of line Czech dog to Top of line DDR female. Some of you must have this cross out there. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
I know what I think you would end up with. Need owners/handlers with thid cross inputs.
I mean, am I right to assume that the Czechs are getting popular? Is that not a harbinger of undesirable breeding practices by those motivated purely by market demand? Will there be an inevitable "thinning"?
I imagine there are hundreds, if not thousands of people lurking around this site and others like it. I imagine some of them might be getting the out-of-context impression that such lines are "new" and exciting, and they just gotta have one. I also imagine some other lurkers recognize that impulse and are quite willing to shove some dogs together (whose names end in -ova) and make a few bucks. Hell, do a google search for working GSDs and try to AVOID "Stormfront's Brawnson!".
I also assume, since the advent of the internet, more and more people who previously thought "a dog was a dog was a dog" are turned-on by the prospect of the prestige of famous lines, and having a "working dog".
Not to mention...
"Heck, if Czech dogs are good enough for the out-spoken board moderater, they gotta be good!"
Would you consider such a turn-of-events probable?

Yep. . .
So, just for the record. CZECH (read also as check, czeck, cezch, and czek <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> )DOGS SUPER SUCK.
I THINK THEY ARE THE WORST POSSIBLE DOGS ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET, AND EVERYONE SHOULD BE BUYING DOGS FROM OTHER BLOODLINES!
So, stay away from my Czech dogs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Robert, shame on you, telling everyone how great your dogs are. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Let's all hope these fine Chezh dogs do not get watered down. What a shame it would be for all the fantastic hard work done by previous breeders, only to be destroyed by the American breeder only wanting to make a quick dollor.
Vancamp, it will take breeders such as yourself to keep these fantastic dogs as ther are!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
You have to LOVE the CZECH DOG for what it is, not for how much money it can make YOU!!
