I have to go out of town for a few days and will not have access to the web or email, so let me say this here:
I did not, and do not, wish for this to be true, nor do I have an axe to grind with any dog, kennel or person, anywhere. I have seen some Czech dogs that absolutely kick ass...and some I would not bother to feed.
For all I know, my friend has a personal agenda to push...after all he owned the bitch, and she contributed at least half of the genes. Still, if Todd has heard something...and I have heard something...there may actually BE something going on here...even if just a smear campaign.
There are disreputable breeders all over the world, just as there are honest ones...money makes people do things that they would not otherwise do. Chris...please do not take this as an attempt on my part to discredit Czech dogs...it absolutely is NOT that. My thoughts are that we should hear from some others on this issue before making any judgements.
I have been interested in Dargo. I really like his lines. Similar to mine. Grim in particular. What I heard, was that his hip scores were not correct. Again, I have a hard time believeing someon would spend the time and money to train a dog to his titles if he truly isn't as good as they say.

Ikor i'm not going at you. If anyone hears a rumor about a dog they should check it out. My problems are this. People who know JS about Czech dogs feel they have to be able to comment or have opinions on them so they appear to have knowledge about them. Ego driven or maybe they feel threatned by Czech dogs and therefore the need to put them down.
In regards to Gero, I find it highly unlikely that they spent the money needed to redo both elbows, the dog has done mutiple titles, competed in the nationals, had about 200 breedings with no particular reputation for elbow problems. Why go to all that expense and trouble when he has a full brother that some consider better than him.
If you are interested in obtaining any info regarding the stud dogs and brood females owned by JINOPO, you are most welcome to visit our web site http://www.jinopo.cz or you can e-mail my person at jinopo@jinopo.cz<br />
I can only assure you that our breeding facility uses only healthy dogs with strong bones, strong nerves and big work drive.
Do you really thing that a dog with operated elbows or displasia could perform as Dargo Ha-Ja-Da at the Internation stud show last year in Bratislava where he took the 1st place?
Definitelly no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here, have a look at his action http://www.jinopo.cz/video/dargo/dargoreallow.rm
Sorry for the low quality but I hope you can still see the performance!!!!
Do you really think that I've lost all my knowledge acquired while directing the breeding program of Czech Police dogs at Z PS kennel during 1980 - 2001?
Why do I have 3 daughters of Gero as brood females in my breeding program now?
I can only tell you that the envy is a terrible human trait and we who breed the dogs have to fight it.
I want to thank everyone who is interested in our dogs and decided for not an easy way maintaining healthy and versatile German Shepherd.
To those who critize our hard work I would like to give the following message:
Work hard, Learn more, Write less and maybe you will be able to breed such high-bred, healthy and hard dogs as DARGO and GERO!
I do not know Jeri or his dogs. The first time I heard of him or these dogs was in this thread. But I agree 100% with what he says here. Many people (not necessarily those who have written above) have a tendancy to spread rumors. These accusations are so stupid and so bizzar that they are rediculous. A dog CANNOT have both elbows replaced and then win a championship. This is crazy.
