I think I have been mistaken. I would like, but not necessarilly have to have a PS dog. I guess it is a pipe dream. More importantly, I eventually would like a dog to be compatable to my bitch. I am not trying to start a b%^$& session on breeders and their kennels.

Ron,
Nope, but I evaluated one of her litters and helped Butch choose his bitch (Scott/Didi). I bought Michael's Lewis Malatesta daughter.

It's good to look for compatability, but it doesn't always happen within the same kennel, that's why I warned not to breed on kennel names. I've got a male who's dam is out of the PS kennel, but a lot of other PS bitches I've looked at don't have a pedigree similar to hers, only a couple do. That's where a lot of the compatability questions come to mind.

As I just finished sending to Todd,I am not familiar with the czech lines, except with what limited information is on the internet, and czech dogs in the local clubs in the area. One of the main reasons I am, or was,is everything I have heard about the PS kennel has been good. Of course your'e going to get a dud now and then, that's genetics. My personal belief is that your chances would be greater at getting a dog that did work out. As I'm sure you know, there is a lot of money and effort at stake, and it's devastating when a dog doesn't pan out.
I asked Todd this same question that I'll ask this board; Where is a good place(unbiased)to research the czech lines?

If you are serious about learning what the Pohranicni Straze is/was all about you should talk to a few people around here, then put together a list of GOOD questions and call Da' Man.

Frank,
Like Mike said, there is and can be a lot of variability within kennels. In the zPS sytem there is for sure. In its prime, the zPS had, I think, between 5-8 breeding stations with quite a few dogs at each facility. Not to mention that they've been breeding GSDs since the 1950s. This was/is a breeding program more extensive than most people, especially in the US, could understand.

Let me post my question another way then. If you were starting out and had an excellent female that has incredible potential, what dogs would you look for in a pedigree for a male to pair her up with. The female I have has Titus z PS, Vera z PS, Dora z PS, Verva z PS, and from the Podskalky kennel;Bejka, Nick, Dora, etc. LIke I said before I'm in no hurry for a dog, that's why I'm here trying to research this side of the GSD. Once again to everybody chiming in, Thank You.
