I don't think there is anything wrong with providing the dog with a physical reward at the end of the training session. (end like time to go home end)
When I'm decoying in a full suit for a good, advanced dog, I like to become the reward. I mentioned in another thread a dog we have at a neighboring department that I like to ground fight. When during our fight he is able to take me to the ground I will wrap him up and work him on the ground. When it's time for him to win the fight I'll let him drag me back to his handler and I will finally submit to the dog.
If it is his last session I have no issue slipping the whole jacket for him to take hold of when we are done. Even though he gets reward for the fight itself I think that physical reward of holding the sleeve or jacket goes a long way.
The dog only rarely gets to carry my buit suit top off as a reward, usually just the dog kicking my a*s with me rolling around on the ground fighting him and yelling is reward enough.
If you watch the body-set of the dog as it goes back to the car after winning the fight, you can just see it thinking to itself..."that's right, we *BAD*!" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
