She tried to fight her way thru the bark collar the first time but now all I need to do is strap it on and she lays down and is calm. It really has made her have more self control. It also saves my sanity regularly! LOL So she'll bark as usual without the collar on? Nice. Does it also work for mournful howling and yelping? Or does this collar simply respond to any old vibrations coming outta the throat?
She barks as usual without it on. It does work for howling and whining too. ( At least mine does.)I have a Tritronics bark collar, not sure what model......
This particular dog is not a nuisance barker outside though, just when she is in a kennel or crate and can't be in the middle of the action. She is a pain in the butt if you try to do ANYTHING with any of the other dogs when she is kenneled. Protests quite loudly and drives me crazy!!! But when you compare all my dogs, she is actually the most discriminating when it comes to barking at things outside. If she barks when she is in the yard, I know there is really something to check out!
I believe mine is the Innotek BC-50, or equivalent. My bitch barks without the collar on as well, which is why I taught the alternate behaviors (I wanted to work on redirecting the barking through obedience). If she gets too irritating, where I'm correcting her or redirecting her every five seconds, on goes the collar, and quiet goes the dog.
oh ya, been waitin for this topic.
i tell you there is this damn lab that is not actually on my street but he sounds like he is next to my freakin head when he goes off.
the house sits behind a house across the street and two up. ive been over there 2x most recently 2 weeks ago.
i asked if that was her dog barking, she said yes, i will bring him in. i asked "do you hear him" she then began the attitude. i'll bring him in. then she asked werent you here before . i said ya, last year. she then began to close the door on me and i began to say how rude she is and became increasingly agitated as i was walking away. i was hoping for her husband or any male to come to the door. at least i could be more verbal with him and hopefully agitate him enough so he would take a swing and i could pound his ignorant head.
i tell you this friggin pisses me off to no end. it drive me freakin crazy. ive called cops couple of times but of course the damn dog stops when there in front of my driveway listening.
hey, i love dogs and YES any barking is practically too much. my dog barks in his kennel i bring the mother in.
my next door neighbor recently had a young sheppard mix a month or so ago.built a small kennel in the back on hte property line for him. damn dog would start his barking at 5:30 a.m my dog would hear him and start at same time. same at night.
now i am friendly with them but this was just damn rude ignorance. i was ranting and raving one day in my backyard at the damn dog finally one of the girls came out and took him in.
next morning at 6:00 i knocked on their door .no answer. next morning same thing , young girl answered, parents away for weekend. told her she needs to do somehting or i calling cops.
i went to work that morning and never heard or seen the dog again.
needless to say , my neighbor does not associate w/me any longer. F@#$ him.
