I'm going to print off these responce and show them to her. She likes the look of the white boxers, but they don't live long. Before I met her she had one, lived to be about 4-5 yrs old and started having seuizers and had to be put down. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

As everyone has said health problems and sunburn, blindness and they do not live as long so i hear .
But if you are looking for a white boxer ,make sure the pigment is good and black or very dark eyes ,and that it is not an abino .
Each and to there own ,true colors are red and white and brindle.Peter

What about all white bulldogs? Are they spared these problems? Let's say they have a black nose. And we will not be talking about no English bulldogs here.

If all your English Bulldog is is deaf, you're lucky.
It's almost easier to talk about what these poor dogs *don't* suffer from. Cardiac problems, respiratory problems, joint problems, skin problems, eyesight problems, hearing issues, cancer and more. They can't even breed naturally -- AI is standard -- because...the stress and excitement of a natural mating makes lots of them faint for lack of oxygen.
I know some people find them cute and I'm sure that a lot of the individuals are charming for all their brief lives, but really this is a breed that should be allowed to go extinct or completely re-constructed. If you want an English Bulldog, good luck and be very friendly with the vet.

The English Bull Dog is almost a lap dog now, I'd opt for the American Bull dog which is a solid built almost all white dog. That is a handsome dog, with muscularity and size that is superior to the Pit Bull terrier.
Almost like the dog the E-Bull dog use to be. But have you seen the prices on the E-Bull dogs you can't touch a pet grade puppy here for under $800.00. Almost all white is acceptable in this breed standard. The eyes will be dark, muzzle and nose will be black. Am Bull dogs are reasonably priced and some say they can do Protection work.
The white Boxer was sometimes mistaken for a small frame, Am-bull dog. But was spoiled and pampered, not much of a real dog, he looked intimating. He was a good dependent dog around her kids.
The got a mutt (Huskie-Shep)later, and they all said that the mix was smarter then the boxer, just not as impressive looking. The boys would say, if Napolean (W-boxer) had Buzz's smarts, ....

I may take some heat for this and maybe I'm wrong but I think the English Bulldog in some ways should be taken out of the dog world for good. I have nothing against them but it seems so sad to me when I see one. They look like they're in so much pain physically. I don't see how they can breath. It's almost like they were made physically to suffer.
I know they're just pets and they don't hurt anything but it seems like when one has another litter it just produces a dog that has 10 years of misery to look forward to. If I was in that situation myself I know I'd want to call Jack Kevorkian.

I wanted an English Bulldog every since I was a kid and I researched breeders and bloodlines and got a Heatherbull bloodline pup about 3 years ago.You wont get any arguement from me.These poor dogs are developed purely for the enjoyment of humans just to look at and smile.I feel sorry for them .I love my dog Boomer to death and do every thing to make sure he has a good life and I wouldnt take anything for him.But come on if you got to AI these dogs just to reproduce the standard somethings not right.Ive been lucky and only had skin problems for awhile but got the under control. Im glad to have him but I dont want anymore and Ill gladly stick with my GSDs from now on!!

I had a few boxers over a 20 year period and have seen quite a bit of change in their workablity throughout those years (at least where I'm from). Because of my love for bull breeds I got into American Bulldogs and haven't looked back. A pure white "Classic or Bully" AB does resemble a white boxer's appearance with fewer health problems, the ABs are also more muscular. If your wife is interested in a white Boxer because of it's looks and personality, I'd encourage you to research the American Bulldog. Because of it's new popularity there are many backyard breeders so make sure you do your homework.
