Hi,
I don't know about police cars but I can tell you in Vermont what you see the most of in the winter is the SUBARU OUTBACK and any other Subaru. They come standard with electronic AWD. I also believe the 2005's are technically classified as a lite truck because of their height clearance.
Many people who live in the country and have to drive into Burlington for work will not drive anything else.
By the way, they are made in Indiana.
They have an excellent safety record and Consumer reports gives them a really, really good rating. They also now come in a turbocharged model.

I don't even think a police package Subaru would fly cool with depts (atleast not here in the US). I do however like what they have done to the Intrepids. Only problem for me is, with a prisoner or k-9 cage in the back, being 6'3 and 330 lbs. getting in and out all shift would kill me. But without a cage, very nice car. I'd take it over the Vic.
Most of what you see here in Tallahassee is Ford Expeditions. They had Tahoes, but recently made the switch.
I recently purchased the new Nissan Armada and I must say that it is the best large vehicle I have owned. I have a large cage in the back that was made for a LEO Expedition. Tons of room and I could not ask for a better vehicle with more features for the $$. I would vote for that as the best k9 vehicle going.

I heard the same thing about the Magnum and I think it'll be pretty cool, but me in a station wagon/hearse looking k-9 vehicle...... not cool. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> But then again, that 5.7 liter Hemi, very cery cool.

It drives a lot smaller than it looks.

Joseph, Were the Tahoe's you had 4x4? Ive heard that the police package in the Tahoe brings it down to only a couple inches higher ground clearance than the Vic? That wouldnt be too bad.
