I really enjoyed the seminar and being in an enviroment where everybody is excited and commited to their dogs and training.I liked the fact the Bernhard trains pet obedience differently than sport dog training. This tells me that he is not biased to one way of training but has a well rounded and realistic understanding of the best way to reach his goals. Not to mention that his succsess speaks for itself.I would highly recomend his seminars to everyone that is seriouse about training and hope to ever reach a high level of competition. The only mistake Bernhard made was telling me,(everyone) to feel free to call him or email him if we ever have any questions.I definately plan on taking him up on that more than once,I hope he ment it.Id like to thank Ed for setting this seminar up and Bernhard for delivering.I also enjoyed meeting people from the board. Thanks to everyone involved!
David
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!
I had a fabulous time at the seminar. I really regret having to miss the tracking-maybe Ed will host another seminar with tracking soon....I encourage anyone who has never gone to one to attend the next one. Bernhard, and all the people I met, were very helpful and friendly to boot.
Loved meeting everyone-David (Dude!-still wishing I had skinned that pretty red fox), of course Deanna and Cindy (did you all ever sell the guys one of those fancy new "training aids" we discussed?) Allan and Bill and Denise (thanks for waiting while I wolfed my breakfast)and was it Jeff from Wisconsin who kept me company by the fire while all you hard core folks toughed it out in the 18 degree night? Oh yes, Joe and Walt-you rottie people were ok too.
The dogs, (Blitz, Ronin, the pretty little bitch with the nice lady owner-wow-hope my dog is that good one day)the people, of course the training, were all great. I'm ready to do it again!
So when do we get to see the photo's Deanna?
...soooo wanted to be there...
Due to the pipes freezing and the boiler blowing while I was off having fun it will be a few days before I scan the photos. I could do it there now, but the house is kinda chilly.
If you didn't attend, you missed a great seminar! Good folks, and of course Bernard did a great job of explaining concepts to the group, no matter what the level of your dog.
Next time, we will have the World Wrestling Federation come out to check out Joe's Rottie. And maybe we can arrange for an translator to aid Allen to Bernard speech ( Deep Southern to German....hehehe)
Looking forward to seeing you all again at his next seminar!
southern speech - - - i have to reply to this as SOUTHERN BORN,SOUTHERN BRED,FROM SWEET HOME ALABAMA,AND DAMN PROUD OF IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone who was at the seminar's first two days remind me what Bernhard said about a dog/puppy getting fixated on one particular toy? Did he say to just take that toy out of circulation for awhile?
I remember this being an issue with someone...
