I bought this book, along with just about every other book I can find on dogs, years ago. I actually went to Orlando with my then trainer for a session with the author. His methods were very antiquated and he seemed inflexible in exploring new or foreign systems. As far as the book goes there are a lot of nice pictures. Some of them are clearly staged to give an impression of great athleticism to some of the dogs, but none the less they are fun to look at. I buy the books to stimulate ideas not to really take an exerpt and implement it. I don't think that is a reasonable expectation of a writer. If you're interested in these breeds (ABs and Pits) and want to see a lot of nice glossy photos of them in action this book is worth it. As far as learning how to train a protection dog from a book, it won't happen, with this or any other literature on the subject.
