We all know that Kampster can't handle a terrier of any sort, even a toy breed one!!!

He breeds Tea-Cup Poodles and Chinese Cresteds! How do we bring people to it?

What you want is human moderated site, so only approved stuff gets published.

For that you need some kind of administrators interface, users interface (for people browsing, putting add placement requests, breeder rating and testimonials).

For breeder rating and testimonials you would want user to be registrated (full name and email address (not yahoo address and such)) to get some credibility and prevent cheating.

Of course you need database search by location/breed/type...etc.

Returned results sorted by ratings and so on.

User (breeder) should be able, once he/she is registrated to add new litters/dogs to his 'site' and remove existing ones.

You would need some kind of file upload system, because for average computer user all this stuff with 'upload picture somewhere else and than you put url here' is too complicated and turnoff. And you don't want that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As for how you get people there; when i find that out i will be rich... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

All this is not that complicated to write, and I'd use php/mysql for it (can't beat free stuff), just would take some time to write.

It seems to me a forum type interface would work well for this type of thing.

Have one forum for each breed, with sub directories for adults, young, litters etc.

Each forum would be moderated, and in order to be able to post their add, a moderator would have to be contacted and permission be granted.
