Yep, I saw Chris's many bruises.
Ouch.......big ouchies.
Man, this is not a sport for the weak of heart or the fragile.
This is why I have a new "Michilen man" bitesuit. I could be attacked by farm machinery and not know about it....

Great pics, as usual Jonathon. It was great seeing you again. A special thanks from Jay and myself for the refreshments you provided at the end of the trial....it was GREATLY appreciated, I assure you!
Hopefully we can all get together again up there before Duhon leaves for Bragg. It's a nice place to train, and seems kind of central for a lot of folks.
Happy and SAFE Training,
Scott |

Chris, if you had come to our lovely in the middle of nowhere seminar with Teo, he would have been glad to teach you how NOT to get punctures in your body.

Jeff, I hate to say it, but there are some dogs that will injure *anyone* through *any* suit.
I have the Ray Allen "Green Decoy" suit which has padding not to be believed. I had it custom made to me, so I have plenty of room to twist inside the suit to avoid bites, plus I'm not a bad decoy nowadays. But we have two brutal dogs in our club that I've discussed before ( Rex the black dog-o-death and Atos ) that still give me bruises on a regular basis.
The very skillful get less pinches and bruises, but they still get some. ( not talking about myself here, no way can I be considered "the very skillfull", hehe )

Jeff,
I'm sure your just giving me a hard time, but I do know how to slip a bite in the suit. Believe me after working trial ready dogs for two days I am proud of the few that I have, because it could have all been 100X's worst. Especially the dogs I was getting my ASR decoy training on, through a nice very protective demanet suit, I got the skin broken by Scott Whigham's dog Tonka, the more I try to slip the more she dug deeper, she wasn't to be fooled, she wanted the hard fleshy stuff not the soft fleshy stuff

Jeff, with the two dogs that I mentioned, if they get a forearm bite on me and I didn't manage to twist in my suit away from it, they're able to lightly puncture the suit ( not to mention the impressive crush damage that they're doing )
And yes, I'm also wearing a neoprene sleeve inside the main sleeve also.
I see tons of dogs on the suit at our ASR trials, and I've been to fair sized KNPV trials in Europe several times. None of the dogs had grips like this.
Most of us have taken to wearing soccer pads on our forearms and triceps when working these two dogs. They're both as close to a genetic "10" for grip as I think is possible in the canine world.
One of these dogs has a litter of ten "maligators" on the ground right now. If they have their Sire's grip, I think I'm going to need to move someplace safe....
