I'm am sorry, after initiating this post, I was away from my computer for a couple of days & couldn't respond to the posts. I put this post up to raise the conscienceness of all that read & post to this forum. I didn't not do it to troll or cause any problems. I just feel that we all should be as informed as we can be, with an issue that may effect us & our ability to enjoy our dogs the way that we in all good conscience & with loving care would like to do. All of the issues about the bill that Connie & Ann Vaini have brought up, are reasons why this is a poorly put together bill. There are too many questions as to how it will be funded(with inadequate funds already) licensing issues & questions about what the govt sees as their freedom to decide what is & is not adequate in terms of housing, feeding, scheduled, unscheduled inspection visits to you home, kennel, freequency of visiits, etc etc. Who will do the inspection if any. What recoreds if any, need to be kept. It is all too vague. These are all valid question & issues with this bill. Until these & more are all explicitely defined this bill should not be allowed to move thru the govt process. It also raises, as I stated in an earlier post the possibility of further bills with even greater restrictrions, possibly on what breeds can be bred, use of dogs, dog importation etc. The possibilities of govt control is endless once it takes a foot hold. (We are already seeing it in some states/ towns/ counties where certain breeds are not allowed to be owned or bred. Insurance companies have restrictions also on breeds & numbers of dogs you are allowed to own.) Until we see these issues addressed in complete disclosure within this bill, we should not let it get passed.
