My golden Ret. loves to play with his flying squirrel. I highly reccommend them, they are soft and do not damage teeth, do not get holes too quickly when he bites into it and is just a lot of fun. I throw it and he takes off after it when he returns i put him in a sit stay and then put my hand on the flying squirrel and tell him to "GIVE", when he releases I praise and pet and then we go again. If he starts getting too crazy like he might hurt himself I just throw it farther so that it lands on the ground before he gets to it. It waqs very easy to teach him to retrieve, after all he is a retriever.
Good Luck
Terry

She doesn't care for her naked tennis balls, but she's taken to 2 different tugs. Heat gun - that would be much faster!
Speaking of flying squirrel durability... my flying squirrel doubles as a tug some days. He loves it, and it's not too beat up, it's lasted me at least 4 or 5 months and, even tho its a lil ragged, still flies perfectly My dog got ahold of a plastic frisbee once n ... well.. it turned into many little teeny weeny frisbees
