Im no expert....but I have some experience. I find its my attitude (if thats the right word) and how I am going about the training. I try to look like I dont want to talked to....and it works. Of course I have a big male Black Russian Terrier, which might help too .
Personally, I think Ed should mail us all some business cards that just say http://www.leerburg.com. We can hand them out and walk away........
I like this idea!
I put my dog in a sit and drop the leash while I talk to the person. Yep.... drama! Conversations end either with a very embarassed person dragging their unruly dog(s) or with a person asking for my business card (or advice on fitting a collar)- I refer them to this site.
When people ask "What kind of dog is that?" I respond "a democrat"
Now when I train at the dog park (I know, bad me) I am very focused and I've never been approached besides when I give Abby a break. I get looks of shock at first (because I'm sooo hard on my dog and I end up having to explain that bully breeds are not vicious child-killers (and that stupid irresponsible people are child-killers) and if they want to actually train the dog to visit this site.
