Common early mistakes I see freqeuntly:
The decoy/helper and the dog owner not discussing what they're going to do out on the field *before* the handler goes to get the dog.
The decoy not understanding the body mechanics needed to absorb and flow with the impact of the dog to prevent injury to the animal.

Isn't that a joint problem with both the handler and the helper? Before I work a dog as helper or handler we always talk about what we're going to do. The last thing I want is to try to build prey and have the handler send his dog for a bite when I'm not ready.

Feeding the sleeve, bad presentation giving the dog a scrwewd up bite, jamming the dog,not understanding the importance of footwork, not knowing where the pocket is therefor not being able to put the dog in it keeping the sleeve correct and driving the dog.How about this, going out and taking bites from dogs in training instead of first having somebody teach you on old experienced dogs first.
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!

The handler never gets to send the dog when they want. I figure the day that a handler can read what his dog is thinking from looking at his butt, is the day I am out of dogs entirely. I would have, and have had, a major issue with this kind of handler. A really good number of them just want to see their dog bite. Plus, a good number of them are nutters, that want to see if their dog will bite "for real" Jerks.
I am smarter than my dog, your just not.

Feeding the sleeve, .....jamming the dog,......
I did "search" on that term (jamming the dog) and it seems to be the same as crashing the dog. Is that right?

As the dog is grabbing the sleeve, you give with the dog. Not giving makes the dog take all the impact. JAMMING.
