I have Ed's new DVD, and there are a couple of times that he recommends sitting down with a beer and working out training plans. Never mentions giving any to the dogs though.
My great aunt had a toy poodle who was addicted to beer. She would pour a little bit in an ashtray for her every time she had one (which was often). The little poodle became a beer maniac. You could not set one down or she would knock it over so she could lap it up.

I would say alchohol is no worse for a dog than it is for a human. I have seen people give beer to thier dogs, and the dogs seem to like it. It has the same effects on dog as it does on humans, from what I have seen. The one case that I can remember the most, the dog was an old dog, and the owner had been giving the dog beer for as long as they could remember. Obviously, super high ammounts of alchohol are dangerous for both dog and humans. The one instance that I remember the best, the guy who owned the dog said the dog sometimes would have diarea, but only if he was given lots of beer. But, the same happens when humans drink lots of beer, expecially if they are not used to it.
Jen, that website that you cited only said that it MAY be dangerous to give dogs alchohol. What that means is.....who ever wrote that did'nt have a clue.
The other link that someone else posted was of an actual experiment. They found from that experiment, that it was not dangerous to give dogs alchohol, other than the long term effects to the liver. Which, by the way, is the same for humans. They gave a moderate ammount of alchohol, every day, to a group of dogs for 6-26 months. And Asside from the liver damage, there were no adverse affects.
Is it dangerous to give dogs beer? No. Is it unheathly to give dogs beer? Yes. Do I give my dogs beer? No. My dogs are athletes, and no serious athletes should drink beer, Dog or Human. Do I drink beer? Yes. I am a College student.....not an athlete. HAHA.
I believe in some communities they can bust you for animal cruelty for feeding alcohol to any animal.
Well duh Dennis, I mean the dog has to be atleast 3yrs old, which would then make him 21 in dog years, and thus legally allowed to consume alcohol
