I don't know guy's I was pretty impressed! Do you think me and my new Papion would pass his screening process... Princess Buttercup deserves fo be trained by a guy wearing a tux.
LMAO - I never got past the conformation handling mpeg. He actually grabs the dog's flank in the down and back when he goes to free stack in front of the judge. If a person can't even effectively show in conformation, I don't want to see what they are like on the protection field
Kristen,
I was thinking the same thing. On the clip showing OB training with the lady and the rottie, as the rottie recalls the the lady (miraculously) you can see the prong collar shaking up and down on the dogs neck as he trotts. Oh, well, I think we have beat him more than the dead horse
Excuse me! I read the rules to posting on this site and nowhere does it say you must state when you are being sarcastic. A thousand bucks for 14-18 weeks of training sounds pretty cheap to me, and from what I have learned in life, you get what you pay for. If I ever show up to meet a trainer and the guy is wearing a tuxedo, I will probably laugh my ass off all the way back to my truck. For what it's worth, I wasn't being sarcastic.
$1000 bucks for 14-18 weeks, 2-3 sessions a week, so lets say 2.5 sessions per week for 16 weeks. That works out to be $25 per session, pretty close to the going rate with someone who knows what they are doing, not exactly a good deal especially considering what you are lible to end up with.
Will or Chris. I know nothing about protection work. Why in HELL would you tell the handler to "Let him enjoy it"? The Mal was allowed to "enjoy it" after the sleeve was slipped.
When the Sleeve is Slipped that is the dogs reward BUT you (will I) don't let the dog thrash it around. If they carry the sleeve and hold it then they are fine when they atart to thrash it I take it back or calm them down on the sleeve. Letting the dog do what the Mal was doing in the Video promotes crappy grips and a chewy dogs on the bite. Not to mention neither the Mal or the Rottie got even close to a full mouth bite and then to reward that is just plan stupid. This guy is a fraud. HE watched some tapes or went to a Club saw it done and thought hey I can do that too and look at what you get. The Helper is a complete Jacka$$ I wouldn't let him work anything I had. Once he slipped the sleeve he ran off to me if I am training a "protection" dog and the helper slips the sleeve and runs off my dog better show some kind of interest in that "move object". And to just wear a sleeve and present it every time to the dog is just plain dumb. HE looked like a Military handler fresh out of the military working dogs. Bent over and jercking the dog after the grip......Stupid.......I could go on for hours but I wont. I think we have all learned what not to look for when we are shopping for trainers.
When people get scared they call the police..When the police get scared they call K-9!
