Both MWD's are being worked. The one that I have has been at this kennel for over two years. My questions was changing the atmosphere, will there be a dramatic change in the MWD. the female handler has not even come into country yet and tried her hand at this MWD that they are wanting to switch. The MWD that she is to get is because the MWD is more responsive with female handlers. Is there any weight behind this.

Brian,
Well if the above posts weren't nothing but a bunch of typed hooplah, LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Obviously some of us read it wrong, sorry about that.
As for the responsive to female thing, I have seen that. It can be overcome with training, but in the situations I'm referencing back to the dog had all it's begining training done by a female. Those first impressions in a dogs life are what stays most of the time. So IMO yes it has some weight, but it is something that can be overcome with good training by a male handler who gets assigned that dog.
I'm glad to hear the situation that some of us thought isn't the case.

No weight to this at all.
I cannot believe that in todays world people are crediting gender in any way to performance of job tasks.
See what I am getting at here folks.
I have to question how this can even come up when the female handler isn't even working the dog and even if she is the performance issues should not be assigned to gender issues.
If it is an excuse for replacement of a problem dog find another avenue.
If the handler in question has reputation for being really poor the the answer is none gender based documentation.
Dogs just don't care that much about human gender.
This whole thread reminds me of a seminar I went to where a male instructor proudly announced that women should not handle male dogs, only bitches because the male dogs just wanted to **** them.
A sudden quiet came over the crowd and many of us just walked off shaking our heads to such a pronouncement.
