Isn't it amazing the difference a week can make? We were all so fearful for Oscar just a week ago and now he is back to bugging his mom! I love happy endings and this one especially so.
One more thing to add to my thankful list this Thursday!
You bet, Betty - I've been thinking about this all week... when it comes right down to it, the things in this life that REALLY matter are precious and few. I would be so very thankful for the present outcome of this whole ordeal at any time of year, but as we have entered into the season of thanks, it feels extra special this year.
I will also be saying great thanks to all our amazingly supportive friends.
We'll be going in for another check-up and x-ray within the week, so I'm hoping we'll have more good news soon (dog sure seems great - his periodic "throat clearing/hack" has even disappeared)... but in the mean time, last week being what it was, I really wanted to post this for all our forum friends:
As you can see, Oscar got all DIY crafty for his first post-"Ospitalization" photo shoot... cut newspapers from our neighbors recycling bin and berries from the backyard were about all I could afford this year!
Ironic that I should read this NYTimes article last night - half way down page 2 of the article they even reference our Angell Animal Medical Center and it's financial aide service liaisons... for the record - I wouldn't trade our experience there for anywhere else.
I got to tell you, I was sure he was dying.
105 and a mass in the chest. That post where you described him gazing off. That is a bad sign, the far-away look.
And there he is, shiny coat and bright eyes.
Miracles do happen.
It's really terrific.
So happy for you, we all are.
