I don't mean to stray too far from the subject, but how do you apply this vinegar/alcohol solution to the ears? I'm familiar with the solution, but I've never had to apply it. Do you just dribble a few drops in or do you wipe the ears out with a dampened cloth? If it's dribbled in, do you wipe it back out?
I'm asking because, although both my dogs have very clean ears which require only a periodic routine "wipe out" to keep them clean, you never know when you'll need to know something like this. It seems important to know just how to apply the solution.
Thanks in advance!

I really flood the canal. None of this "small amount" stuff!
After massaging for 60 seconds, I let him shake his head and rid most of it from his ears himself, then dry it out with a wipe or a cotton ball.
I do the dousing flush when needed, for regular maint. just the outside of the ear canal. You can see when the build up gets going too much then it's time to thoroughly cleanse the ear canal.
Thank you Deanna, L Swanston, & Angelaw for answering my question! This is pretty much what I thought, but it's good to hear it from those more experienced. Much appreciated!

That's it, Howie, I'm gonna have to cut ya off, buddy!
But seriously, there's no need to YELL. If you read the entire thread, you'll note that a few folks, myself included, have already mentioned the relationship between diet and ear condition. Even raw fed dogs need the occasional ear cleaning.
