I have seen quite a few nasty, spooky, or just plain effed in the head goldens and very few good ones. Their extreme popularity really ruined a lot of them, on top of that a lot of people own them who haven't the slightest clue how to train and live with a dog.
Quote: finally, his owner started calling him. she was out of sight, but within voice range. the wolf-dog very reluctantly, very slowly started to move off to follow his owner. i kept repeating GO HOME! the damn wolf-dog kept stopping and coming back, only to move off again when his owner called. End Quote
Is it better to just keep walking and hope the dog dosen't follow you, or best to stand your ground and wait till the dog leaves???
I am asking as I constantly have loose dogs badgering us on most of our walks. I am never sure if I should just pretend I don't see the dog or if I should turn and tell the dog to get lost.
Any opinions??
if the dog is loose and approaching, i always stop and confront it. i want to be in control of the situation. if i keep moving, i'm not in control of what happens.
if the dog is leashed or inside a fence, i keep moving.
