.....Sure they did stuff with dead dogs .....
I recognized the Gilda Radner poem immediately......... just shows I have an SNL brain, I guess.

'Til I learned what they learned on was already dead."
Great link, Nancy. I do wish that the laws would better reflect the probable threats. For example, in IL, where I live, the only animals found w/rabies are bats. No others in I can't remember how long. In light of this, I think we should have the option to decline repetitive boosters. Not saying it's likely, just saying it would be nice. I have been trying unsuccessfully to get my epileptic 6 1/2 yr old chihuahua exempted from the vaccine. So, right now, I'm just breakin' the law...
I had never laid eyes on this weasely(sp?) little "vet" that gave my dog the unauthorized shots. There was nothing that my husband or I saw in the grooming office that indicated a vet was even associated with the business. I believe I can understand why after this experience. There was no consent for shots of any kind, only bathing and anal glands. We talked with the girl at the desk and told her the dog was current on rabies til summer 07, and that he was on a no vaccination regimen. She agreed that many people including vets were not giving so many shots. We asked to meet the groomer...she seemed capable. We were totally blindsided.
When I mentioned my vet, it's a clinic we've gone to for years and he respects my position on boosters though I can tell he is skeptical. As Connie suggested, I will get something in writing to him for future...just in case another vet there sees my dog. I am still so angry about this. I look at this distinguished, healthy old boy (he's 10) and I get furious all over again...that someone dared treat him medically without my knowledge. Grrrrr.
