I can sympathise w/you on that.I only bring one at a time on our training field , they thankfully don't get to see one another( one is in the car crated). My oldest male does not have a strong bond with the others, but my 10 month old always has an eye on the others.I train him while I have my oldest male on a long down at a distance for distraction and he seems to be getting better. He is sooo ball driven that it's easy to get the focus I need. But I always say my next dog will not get together with the others. It is hard to accomplish for me.
The peeing issue could be complex. When did she drink last how old is she, how big is the crate etc. Should not relieve herself in that amount of time with propper precautions.Crating is good for puppies and young dogs ( really all age dogs ).
She's a little older than a year and a half. The dog crate is about the largest plastic dog crates you can get. As far as peeing is concerned... since my dogs have been able to go whenever they want outside. Let me ask you guys how often you take your dogs out to go poop and pee if you are kenneling/crating for the majority of the day/night or keeping them inside for that portion. Or do you have a doggy door? Should twice a day be enough to relieve themselves? Once in the morning, once in the evening? Lastly, do you have fresh water available to them while they are in their crate/kennel, and does this affect how often they need to pee?
I let them out as often as they want when I'm at home...I usually know this if they run against the door when I pass by it (they trail after me most of the time). Otherwise, at least three times. They're not let out the whole morning or the rest of the night and I allow them access to fresh water. But these are dogs who understand what's going on, you probably need to make some adjustments if your dog doesn't realize what's expected of him yet.
enough from me other than make sure you let them know it is a good thing when they go outside. When you let them out tell them go potty whatever and praise lots when they do. my dogs are not crated at night anymore and when the time comes when they are sick or for some reason just have to go they will wake me or my wife up to go out. they take care of buisiness and back to sleep.
when brix's crated all day, he goes out twice in the morning, at least twice after work. this doesn't include time outside training.
as far as her peeing in the crate, i'll bet that it WAS simply due to not being used to the schedule. shouldn't take more than a time or two to get her good though...
