Connie, you mentioned he is on a home cooked diet now. Could it be too much sodium/salt is being added to the diet? Don't know if salt would be this kind of a culprit for a dog, but if he's used to raw and is now being given salt in some form, could that cause the excessive thirst and peeing?

I don't think any salt of any kind is used, but I will definitely bring it up.
It could be too LOW of salt as well, strangely enough. Before my dad passed away, he had some similar symptoms where the doctor prescribed him sodium pills because his sodium levels were chronically low. We haven't learned *why* but we suspect it had to do with progressive shutting down of his brain possibly affecting other parts of his body, or at least how the brain communicates with the body (he had a very rare form of dementia/aphasia).

How's your daughter's dog coming along?
I enjoy reading your posts; you're always so supportive of other people. I'd like to say, "Thank you for your support, here's mine."
Hey, THANK YOU, Eva!!
I pasted every suggestion into a Word doc and sent it to Milo's humans. They forwarded it to the vet.
Milo has an appointment in two weeks. Meanwhile he is off the Balance IT, and the vet will call my daughter Monday to discuss the calcium supplement (which is a crucial item in the multi Balance IT). Any improvement triggered by that change will be assessed, and he will probably have an ultra-sound.
All his internal organs will be checked for enlargement, etc.
So ..... we'll see! I know that a diagnosis for Milo is going to be made.
