I got so tired of dumb ass owners and stay dogs, so I got a spray from the feed store to carry with me on walks. It's supposed to be safer than pepperspray but still make the dogs back up. Now if I can only use it without spraying myself :-)
Regarding the police baton; does anyone know of an electric baton to be used to defend yourself and your dog? I know they are out there, but I just can't find them on the web.
i would just search police supply stores. i know of leverage and lighted additions to the baton, but never did i see one that was "charged" or electrical....

Oh man Steven I laughed out loud when I clicked on page 3 and saw that thing!!! I bet some of the owners would be keeping tighter control of their dogs if they saw someone wlaking their puppy while carrying with that in their hands though!
Asp batons (and others like them) do not carry electrical charges, they are a bludgioning weapon, and the best point of contact is to strike with the tip. Keep in mind though that striking the head with an ASP is considered lethal force (regarding human contact anyway); so if you plan this kind of defense be prepared to go all the way. Tazers have laser designaters built into them so if the target is "painted" you hit it, but you need to be pretty damn quick on the draw. If you want an "electric stick/baton" get a cattle prod. They can sometimes be hard to find but try a live stock store (if there are any ) or ask a local farmer to point you in the right direction.
I think that was a play on the word "Mace". I know the Mace mentioned in this thread is the canned stuff, but if you want to "Get Medieval On" someone's a$$, the pictured weapon is JUST the tool to do it with.
