Well, when I can get her to go potty for me; which sometimes is almost impossible because she does not eat enough. They are just mushy. They are not runny or cow pie stools just real mushy.
If she came from a pet store and was bred in Nebraska she is a puppy mill dog and this is undoubtedly the cause of her problems (poor breeding practices and the dogs are not health screened) This is not your fault of course but it helps us to figure out what may be wrong.
I am going to take a step back and look at this from the bigger picture and start with the more simple possibilities first.
If we keep it simple, I think you have 2 seperate issues going on here that are both related to the poor breeding.
#1. Hip Dysplasia: a wobbly hind end, difficulty getting up in the morning (or after a long period of laying down), and a bunny hopping gait at the run are classic indicaters of this. Take her to an OFA certified vet (not the one you have gone to already) and have her hips x-rayed to confirm it and find out how bad it is. Once you know the severity you will be able to make some treatment decisions.
#2. Food Allergies: the vomiting, lethargy, diahrea, lack of appetite are all symptoms of allergies (among other things but we're keeping it simple for now). There is a blood test that they can do to determine every single thing your dog is allergic to. Your vet must pull her blood and then send it to the lab that does this. They will then send you a comprehensive list of what your dog is allergic to and to what degree. They will also supply you with a list of dog foods that don't contain the things that your dog can't have. You have to specify that you want the test that tests food allergies. (They also have a test for indoor and outdoor allergies as well)
#2a: Weight loss: obviously if she is allergic to everything she is eating and throws up she is going to lose weight. She is also not going to want to eat because knowing she is going to get sick is a huge deterrant to wanting to eat (think about how you feel after you barf...eating is the last thing you feel like doing)
Have you tried feeding her lamb and rice?
P.S. Poor baby... I am so glad she found her way to you. You clearly are a caring person who is trying to do the best thing for this dog.
EDITED TO ADD... Better yet, I can see the concern for putting her under anesthesia for the xrays in her current health. I would suggest getting the allergy tests done and get her on the right diet. Once she gets more weight back on THEN do the xrays. In the mean time talk to your vet about getting her on Adequan asap.
Yes, I have tried lamb and rice and she gets a lot worse with foods that contain rice, lamb, chicken, potaoes, fish, venison, duck. I think she is allergic to everything. Like I said before we have tried every food out there hypoallerginic foods, prescriptions foods, even just the simple foods and we have not found anything that she tolerates real well. Ok I will do that. I will speak to my vet about the allergy test and just go from there.
Thank you so much for your help you have been very helpful and trust me it is greatly appreciated.
when I say lamb and rice I don't mean a processed dog food. I mean literally lamb and rice. (the kind you cook and could eat yourself)
She may be allergic to corn, yeast, brewers yeast, eggs etc. Those are all ingredients that are found in almost every processed dog food but I have known dogs allergic to some or all of those. The owners had to cook their dogs meals carefully.
Have they checked her for gastric ulcers? That is another possibility that could cause those symptoms.
Definitely get the allergy testing though so you can know exactly everything she is allegic to and more importantly find out the short list of things she is not.
I would get her checked for ulcers while you are at the vet. (might as well pay for one office visit instead of two).
If she has ulcers there are prescriptions that will heal them up quite well and could resolve all her other issues that may or may not be allergy related.

Hi Judy, I'm so sorry your pup is having such a hard time. It almost sounds like failure to thrive (Pancreatic Insufficiency). Can you tell us the general area you are located in? Someone may be able to refer you to a better animal hospital. At first I was shocked the vets were not treating the hips, but after reading all that is going on with your pup, I can understand why the hips are not their main concern. I don't know if this is worth rechecking (I don't know if that is done), but PI is becomming more & more common & does describe the symptoms.
