I used to work as a groomer and I think the best thing for shedding is taking them to the groomer and letting them brush and blow him out with their power dryer. This thing is so powerful that when you point it at your arm it will move your skin. The hair literally flies through the air like snow.
A lot of people may not feel comfortable giving their dog over to someone else and letting them do it. Just think of it like taking him to the vet. My advice would be to ask to talk to the groomer who will be doing it personally. Don't just talk to the receptionist.
