This kind of "playing" with flashlights and laser lights can have the extremely bad results that you are seeing. There's nothing funny about it, and it's probably good that it comes up again periodically.
Also, Will, if you would like to start a new thread, that would be better. Dennis is correct about tacking a new thread onto a very old one of someone else's.
Thank you for replying. It has only gone on for 4 weeks or so, and already I can see it becoming more and more of a problem. When the lights come on, it's go time for Vic! I will do whatever it takes to help Vic get over this terrible fixation he has.
Sorry for tacking on to an older thread, I'll start a fresh one.
Will as stated in a few of the earlier pages, the Dog Whisperer dealt with the same thing. You can probably look it up on Youtube or National Geographic. It was a Bernese Mountain dog I believe. I know he used a lot of obedience and exercise and it was a life long job.
At first it seems amusing to see a dog chase a light, but when you think of it, you can really see how sad and traumatic it will be for a poor dog. I caught my roomate several times teasing my dog with some temperature sensing gun a few years ago. He thought it was pretty funny until it was smashed on the garage floor. Better than on his head I told him.
Will, sorry to hear about this. Here is another discussion about ocd behavior, and a couple of the posters mention that when they switched to raw, symptoms were greatly alleviated. Maybe something to think about, if you are a kibble feeder.
