Oh, good Lord. NO, NO, NO! Does no one understand me???
1) Dogs fight for lots of reasons, neutered or not.
2) Dogs can fight only if owner allows it (intentional or not)
3) Hormones are a part of the equation, but again, ONLY IF ALLOWED.
4) I NEVER SAID CAUSED. OR REASON.
5) I ain't talkin' about gettin' along. I's talkin' about SEPARATION when I say humans are the factor determining whether a dog fight is allowed to occur or not.
Carol, I'm glad you're glad
Going home now to deal w/my hormonally charged crew.
Angela, half of your post is what I was saying...so me thinks perhaps you didn't read my tone right? Or I suck at writing.
I just tend to take text literally. You typed that humans were THE "determining factor" (which i read to be "cause") of dogfights. I see that you meant "enabler" as in the fights could be prevented by proper management. That (what I quoted) is the only part of your post that I was addressing.
Sadly, most people do not have the knowledge and/or inclination to properly manage their dogs.
The point of the OP was that Cesar somehow manages to "properly manage" a pack of like 40 dogs without allowing any fights, while some people cannot even manage two. I think the statement intended was that, is it easier for Cesar because his dogs are neutered?
Maybe I am wrong here, but I thought that's what the OP was asking.

I am brand new to the site. I have 2 Pit Mixes that were shelter dogs. Jeter is a 13 month old 67 lb. male and Dakota is a 50 lb. 6 month old female. I am really enjoying them. I work with a trainer on obedience and my dogs are responding great. I havesome concerns and questions about dog parks.

Oh, holy cow. I feel like I'm on candid camera here, folks, or maybe I'm speaking Japanese!
HUMANS DON'T CAUSE DOG FIGHTS. THEY ALLOW THEM. I. NEVER. SAID. CAUSE.
Robbin, have you ever once heard me use the term "pack?" Nope. I do not have nor desire a pack of dogs. I have 6 individual friends. Some like each other sometimes. Some don't. I don't care. I don't like all my friends' friends, but I'm not going to have them all neutered just because I don't like them. Although if I could start w/my bf's friends...
They're not all foaming at the mouth trying to get at each other; they just don't hang out. They can all ride in the car together loose, if that counts for anything, but do I think it necessary or even positive for them to run around like a pack of idiots in the yard together? No. It isn't necessary for them to have doggie friends or play dates or for that matter, to have another person touch them. I am a psychotically controlling bitch, who demands idolization. Any more questions?
Ok, I REALLY have to go home!

Alec,
You need to start a new thread.
Click on the "Forum List" link at the top and choose an appropriate forum for your topic ("general Discussion" might be good.)
Also, before posting it is a good idea for you to go through Ed Frawley's articles. Here's the one on Dog Parks

The issue is that they love to go to the dog park and after spending an hour or so running around and socializing they are nice and rested when I get them home. I understood it was very healthy for them bot physically and mentally. Nowe I am reading how dangerous it is and Jeter has had a few confrontations. I get anxious and the whole experience becomes less fun for me and the dogs

Alec,
First, here is some info on Dog Parks:
http://www.leerburg.com/dogparks.htm
And, most of us are not fans of them either. Even though our (meaning yours too) are well behaved, doesn't mean that the others at the park are, therefore, opening up the potential for lawsuits, vet bills and more.
If you use the search function at the top of the page, there are tons of threads and discussions on this topic.
However, feel free to start a new thread (where it will be seen better).
Go to Forum List and scroll through your options and pick the section that is best suited to what you would like to ask, if you have trouble finding one, General Dog Discussion would be okay and the Moderators can move it if needed. Then, click on your option and then in the upper left click Options, then Create New Topic. Add a title and then ask away.
Welcome to the forum, glad to have you.

Oh, holy cow. I feel like I'm on candid camera here, folks, or maybe I'm speaking Japanese!
Jenni,
Not to be harsh, but sometimes your posts come across like you are "ending" the conversation with your wording that you type because what you type seems to be what you think we should all think.
What you believe and what others believe is going to differ at times and there is no way around that.
So, you are not speaking any different language that we are, you just obviously come from a different "belief of dog training/handling" that some of us do.
My dogs are all working dogs, kept separate and monitored if together.
Rock (altered) and Marley (intact and knows it) run around together like idiots when I let them and Rock is top dog. So, I don't think it is about nuts, I think it is attitude. They get along famously. NEVER had an issue between the two of them and I have two bitches in heat right now. (of course Marley is busy pining away to do anything for a couple weeks)
HUMANS are the determining factor in whether a dog fight breaks out or doesn't.
Above is what you typed and with the CAPS on HUMANS it makes the whole sentence seem like you are saying cause even when you are not. Maybe it is just me, and if it is, I can admit I was wrong, I have no problem with that.
But I felt I needed to say something since you keep typing holy cow, for cripes sake and oh good Lord in your posts. Obviously your frustrated and it is coming across negatively to me at least. I do not think those comments are needed everytime you post.
I use similar stuff once in a while, but not every reply.
Not trying to start an argument or anything, however we are all passionate about the way we believe, and that is what makes the board a pleasure to visit and learn from.
