believe it or not, i had thought of that. i looked for a pimple head, in-grown hair, and i tried squeezing it without success a couple of times.
anyways, the vet looked at it and said it was too small to do a needle biopsy, so she got these magnifying glasses and looked at it and said 'oh it's a pimple!' and squeezed for me.
yup, i just paid $40 to get my dog's zit squeezed. heh.
it was the same vet who looked at teagan's xrays and said 'yeah, her bladder is fine, but she's got hip dysplasia' and she was thrilled to hear how much better teagan is doing on the pain meds - she can pee and pooh in the same outing now - didn't do that for the first 8 weeks i had her - she poohs everyday and pees everytime i take her out.
also, we weighed luc, and - the incredible disappearing dog!
luc was 68lbs when i adopted him. 3 months later, he was 64lbs. after that period was when my ankle was done rehabbing and he started building up to the longer runs with me - luc now weighs (after 6 months of living with me).....
55.8lbs!
OMG! he's high energy though, and he looks fine. i got a bit freaked out, but the vet was like 'are you kidding? he's thin, but he's perfect. you don't want him carrying excess weight, and he looks great'. which was really nice and made me feel better. still, wow. up the distance and he really lost weight. if only i could be as disciplined about my diet as i am about his.
....no wonder everyone calls him a girl. he's no longer in the normal male GSD weight range....dear me.
(though, when i say he has barely any body fat, apparently i'm not joking!)

it was a relief, though i felt a little silly. ....
Oh, I wouldn't.
I'm familiar with dog pimples, but single occasional ones are most common on the muzzle (IME). Also, squeezing can cause an infection to back in deeper. So I think you did the right thing, period.
well that's true, i had thought it might be but couldn't tell, so really, i probably wouldn't have been busy poking at it.
still. a pimple. but man, i'm glad it wasn't cancer and the fleece bits have to go back on the harness bottom, hopefully they will stop any rubbing-induced future pimples.
