Mallory, Those are some very lucky puppies to have you. Look forward to hearing all about them once you pick them up on Friday.

Mallory,
Are these two pups the siblings of your Abby, or are they from a different litter?
Anyway... It's just SICK that these people did what they did, I wonder if there is some kind of law that they can't own animals in the future or something. I hope so.

There are laws in most of the states that would indeed at least prevent their ownership of animals for some prescribed period of time..... one problem is getting them charged and another is getting them punished.
I do know that we have too many of a lot of kinds of stupid laws, and that PETA has given all kinds of real animal rights people and groups a black eye.
But some groups exist to educate both the public and the lawmakers about the strong connection between animal cruelty and its counterpart against children and others, and the strong conection between animal-fights as entertainment and a betting event, and illegal drug activity..... besides just how bad the real problems against animals (such as puppy mills and dog-fighting) can be.
Just a small interjection about how they are not all PETA. Some of them are in the trenches where horrors like Katrina are going on, and some of them work tirelessly with the legal system against human cruelty against animals. JMO.

yes.
i think a boy and a girl. Yeah, that is right i think. At least one boy. There were only 2 girls, Abbi and another, and when they gave me the 4 pups, they were all boys, so i think they kept a girl, no doubt to breed, likely with her father or brother....
i will post pics on friday. i warn you, they will be frighteningly thin still, but that is even after they have been eating for a for almost a week.
i am worried, i will ask tomorrow if they have already vaccinated/fixed them, they were so sick.....
if they have, what do i need to watch for.
I have not ever vaccinated/spayed an animal that was so far gone, if there were complications i would want to be able to spot them.
I hope they just give me a voucher, or tell me to come back in so long to have it done.

The man my Chow was taken from was sentenced to not having another dog for 10 years.

Mallory: I am so glad you get the little ones, please keep us posted. Did you find out, I don't even know if you could or not, if the mom was starved or if she was ill?
I am so blessed to see you reaching out in such a way. You have quite a housefull now.
May God bless you And May God bless those little pups with health

i don't know, and didn't ask. I would be willing to bet starvation though.
Around christmas time, they were never home, which i swhy it was so easy to have capone, no one was home to look for him for about a week. Then the week after, they only came by once a day, and they did not go feed the dogs.
Then i stopped seeing her, and i thought they took her inside because they thought someone stole capone(hmmmmm, who could that have been?), but i guess she was dead by that point.
I guess they were finding another place to live, being evicted and all, and just never came back to their house to care for her.
If i would have known, i would have fed her, they were never home to say anything. I really would have fed and watered her, but i thought they were at least doing that. then i thought she was inside with the pups.

Mallory, most of us just whine when we see bad things happen, but you actually do something about it. Thank you for being a good person. And please let us know how this goes!
