I feel kind of stupid now for not thinking of it.
Hey, most of us have put our faith in a vet (or vets) until we realized that they were not any more perfect than MDs.
About chains (like VCA): IME, all that matters is the vet(s) who are the providers at the one you go to. I know a great one (IMO) and a terrible one (again IMO).
This is Day 10 on a completly RAW diet - I am telling you the improvements are remarkable and drastic. In only 10 days and I already see such and amazing difference....
Hershey suffered from allergies, He chewed at his tail area CONSTANTLY....I mean he used to drive me CRAZY at night with all noise he made.
Now, it's beginning to heal up and I rarely ever even see him scratch...
He is doing great on the raw chicken, turkey, beef - I haven't tried fish & he isn't crazy about goat meat.
I add Vit E & Fish Oil with omega 3&6 to his food (not every day) and apple cider vinegar to his water daily. ( I will start to look into fruits & veggies this week to decide if I want to use them)
He Poo's less and they are smaller( Thank God for that b/c I am the one who has to clean up after him. Just like I read, they are small and turn white then sort of just crumble...
My husband saw hiw poopy in the yard and didn't even know what it was that is how different it looks (lol)
His Coat is beginning to look shiner and healthier ...It makes me so happy to know that I am doing something to improve his overall health.
It is just amazing to me ~ I just can not tell you what a turn around this has been... The only drawback to feeding raw right now is that I have been unable to find chicken backs/necks but I did find a distributor in my area who orders every other month. I just missed a delivery so I have to wait to March if I don't fine anything else in the mean time.....
You knew the answer to your other thread all along. You don't need no stinkin' pre-made food! Your doin' awesome!
AMEN!!!
Yea, your right but like some else said over there ~ We humans try to over analyze EVERYTHING ..... But it is pretty simple when you think about it.
My dog means the world to me... He is like one of my children and I just want him happy, healthy and with us for as long as possible.
I am a true beliver that RAW is the way to go. No one will EVER be ale to convince me otherwise.... When I started the RAW diet, I thought that I may see some improvements but I never in a million years would I have thought that it would make this much of a difference. If he is doing this good on the outside, I can't even begin to imagine what it is doing for him on the inside......
Don't know where you are but any sack-n-save Carnival , or Minyards carry chicken backs and necks which is the major part of our diet and we get them for .59/lb.
I just read your story...so amazing!! I have been feeding my 1 year old Boxer raw since she was about 4 months, so it's hard to get that difference in perspective as far as before and after. It's nice to hear some great success stories! Pretty soon your baby might be acting like a puppy again!
